Problem: Due to a JIT format there is a risk of upsetting the build order and as a result the entire line was stopped. Too much time is spent waiting for repairs when a newly assembled unit fails.
Solution: TechElectric Automation designed a 16 drawer storage compartment programmed with an indicating system to communicate which stored unit must be installed on the line while the failed unit is in repair. The repaired unit is then returned to the storage compartment.
|
Result: Decreased down time when JIT units are in repair. Increased efficiency due to a program indicating which unit is required.

Problem: Cleaning solutions are wasted and not fully utilized due to the small space in train washes.
Solution: TechElectric worked with the floor area and implemented a timer to reduce waste of water and inefficient use of chemical cleaners. |
Result: A cleaner train with no soapy residue and a more environmentally friendly use of water and chemicals.
