TechElectric’s Preventative Maintenance Program

Problem: Dust from milling products at the Newmarket location of QPL (Gum Products) creates havoc with operations. Any electrical installation of less than Nema4 (watertight) has a layer of dust on all components inside the electrical enclosures. Electrical failures are a result of the dust and could cause dangerous circumstances if the dust ignites.

Solution: TechElectric’s PM program inspects and cleans up the electrical enclosures at QPL. In addition, TechElectric discovered many loose wires broken from their connections. These deficiencies can be caused by poor workmanship at install, incomplete repairs and/or vibration. Most commonly, heating and cooling of the electrical connections can cause wires to loosen and fail.

Result: The PM program identifies these issues in advance of electrical failure, repairs the damage and implements corrective measures. QPL maintains a continuous safe running facility.
