Responding

Location:  Capo Industries, Burlington, Ontario

case packer machine

Problem:  A case packer machine raises 12 Windex bottles simultaneously 4” inches off the conveyor and suddenly drops all the bottles.

Solution:  Maintenance feels an error in the electrical circuit or an error has occurred in the P.L.C program. Techelectric responds to the call and finds no issues with the electrical and P.L.C. Further investigation results in the discovery of a flexibility air pipe that is folding on itself starving the gripping units of air. The fold is not present when picking up the bottles but does occur when the grippers rise 4” inches from the conveyor. TechElectric discovers the issue and replaces the hose.

Result:  Capo Industries is up and running within 90 minutes of the service call. Because of our vast experience and knowledge in manufacturing troubleshooting, TechElectric can solve a variety of problems quickly and effectively.

PLC and display replaced

Problem:  A portion of the conveying line has stopped.  The maintenance department has diagnosed that the trouble seems to stem from the PLC. The maintenance staff has no background information for this type of PLC. The maintenance manager calls the manufacturer for support. The manufacturer no longer staffs electrical or programming team support.

Solution:  The manufacturer refers the maintenance manager to TechElectric. Our service technician diagnoses that the PLC is beyond repair.  TechElectric replaces the unit with an updated version.

Result: The PLC and display are replaced and online for the next day’s operation. The new controls support Ethernet communications for future SCADA development.
